The Mat class is performed on a the floor using your own bodyweight as resistance. It focuses on precise, controlled movements that strengthen the deep core, improve posture and enhance overall body awareness.
Small props such as resistance bands, light hand weights and balls may be incorporated to add challenge and variety, increasing muscular endurance, coordination and stability. These tools allow us to target specific muscle groups more precisely, deepen core activation and introduce greater resistance or balance work when appropriate. The result is a progressive, adaptable class that can be both accessible and deceptively challenging, delivering a well-rounded, effective full-body workout.
Our Mat classes welcome all levels and are thoughtfully taught as Mixed Ability sessions. Whether it’s your first time on the mat or you’ve been practising for years, each movement is guided with options and variations, allowing you to work at a pace and intensity that feels right for your body while still being appropriately challenged.
